In our busy everyday life, time is scarce and fast food can easily become daily fare.  Mass produced products, full of additives and preservatives end up tasting about as much as the packing in which they are sold. Fortunately there are still a few enthusiasts who offer, produce of quality rather than quantity.  Fresh produce cultivated with delicacy, pleasure and in respect of nature.  These local suppliers have knowledge and take pride in their profession and have a commitment to animals and nature; they offer "the real thing" and locally grown produce.

We are proud to work alongside such dedicated people. Together we wish toshare the cultural heritage and food history of our region, and tocontribute to strengthen the interest for quality food based on local
products.

We work hard every day to find the best ingredients our region can offer. Here are some of the many local enthusiasts that we cooperate with today.

One of our suppliers is “Butcher Jens Eide”, whose products have won several prizes.  Eide delivers quality products, such as, meat, game and poultry.  He is happy to assist at barbecues, and he can offer more than 20 different varieties of sausage as well as his prize-winning home-made cured meats.

“Den blinde ku” (The blind cow) delivers fresh gourmet mushrooms and cheese. The Tjamsland farm delivers fresh free-range eggs.  At this farm the hens really enjoy life.  The production of eggs is ecological, meaning  the hens have about an acre of land where they can roam freely in beautiful surroundings.

Shrimp and mackerel are typical products of Southern Norway, but the delicacies of the sea are numerous in this region.  As our guest, you will have the pleasure to enjoy a menu with a vast choice of fresh ingredients from the sea.  And we cooperate only with the best suppliers in the region.

The garden centre of Hesnes Gartneri cultivate an impressive 16 different varieties of tomatoes, and delivers many of their choice products to the hotel.
